Lignano Pineta
Lignano Pineta was built in the Fifties, right in the middle of the peninsula belonging to the town of Lignano Sabbiadoro, which at that time was still under the town administration of Latisana. All was originated from a handful of local businessmen, who decided to realise an innovative project drawn by the architect Marcello D'Olivo: this is how the peculiar spiral-shaped city-structure wascreated, a structure thanks to which Lignano Pinata became famous worldwide. Many specialised magazines widely dealt with this innovative, functional and original city-structure, which does not spoil in any way the natural surroundings nor the pine-woods. Each house was built in accordance with the surrounding natural environment dominated by pine-woods, which protect peace and privacy of all
these little architectural jewels.
